A Portuguese Deli Opens its Doors

How lucky are we in Bahrain! In the last couple of years, we have seen a Greek deli open (Agora), an Italian pasta deli open (Sugo) and now our very own Portuguese deli has open-end its doors!

Lusitania is nestled in Al Liwan in Hamala and worth the trek over there.

The team behind the store were super helpful on my trip, explaining the variety of products and items to us. From artisan honey, unique seasonings, gift hampers, pastries and more…there is plenty to ogle and enjoy at Lusitania.

I ended up leaving with a salt spray (supposedly to be used on salads), sardine pate (consumed very soon after leaving the deli, paired with a pickle), cocoa infused honey.

Their selection of gift hampers was enticing, and I will be back for a coffee and pastry at the bar (how very European), and to pick up some cheese, salt cod and artisanal ice cream for a Portuguese theme dinner.

They are bringing into new products weekly, so keep your eyes out. I certainly will be back to this impressive store.
