A Walking Tour of Muharraq's Pearling Path

With guide Sophie

10,000 steps, one gloriously breezy morning and a route stitched together with stories and snacks!

The ancient + the modern

Some of the highlights from my walking tour with Sophie, who is a gem of knowledge for the area, included:

  • Fresh khubz (bread) stuffed with Omani chips and cheese
  • Seeing the historic Pearl Path take shape over the years
  • Ducking into beautifully restored houses
  • Clambering onto a dhow boat at the repair yard

If you have ever thought 'I should explore more', are new in town or visiting - then let this be your sign to book a tour with Sophie.

Things to know:

  • Sophie can tailor the tour based on ages, timings, abilities and more.
  • She speaks both French and English.
  • She also can do tours of the desert (with camels!) and in Manama too
