La Scarpetta; meaning to mop your plate clean with a piece of bread. Coincidentally my exact fave thing to do when visiting L'orto in Adliya!
This elegant and welcoming Italian restaurant, focuses on fresh seasonal ingredients, paired back classics and grown up flavours. Whether you go for lunch, aperitivo or dinner, Chef Susy Massetti's charm abounds at this Italian darling of Bahrain's dining scene.
Recent standouts on my visit there included the knee droppingly good burrata, a charred eggplant with caramelized miso (not pictured), the veal Milanese and the must-try asparagus cannelloni with a pumpkin seed pesto. Bellisima!
Of course her island-famous pumpkin ravioli with sage & fresh black truffle sauce is required eating on any visit too.
Visit at lunch for a bright and airy courtyard or head there at night for one of the most romantic, prettily lit up spots in Bahrain.
Or if you're looking for a happy hour, read here and for special occasion dining, here.
