I’ve got a secret to share.
Danet AlTawawish is my regular. A favourite. Where I visit every couple of weeks. Stopping by for a mid-week dinner. There is a good chance you’ll spot me. Sitting on a bench, munching away on my meal. Maybe some shopping bags in hand. Maybe not.
It takes under ten minutes for me to drive here. Park. Walk. Order. It's faster than going to Adliya, easier than going to Seef. It is as we say in Persian, my ‘patogh’. My souk hangout.
There are two main things you will want to order, the lamb chops & the mehyawa cheese bread. Sip on some karak tea. Enjoy. Chit chat.
Then head home.
