Peru on a Plate

Exquisite is the only word I can use to describe Clay.

I’ve been to this Peruvian spot in Adliya a few times now and am always blown away by this place.  Beautiful interiors, plating to swoon over, views to match.

I love to bag one of the terrace seats to peer over and admire the hustle and bright lights of Adliya.

On my recent visit, I tried the Foie Gras Nigiri. A dish that made my mouth do a double back tuck with a triple twist. It was Olympic gymnast level stuff. Mind blowing. No, correct me. It was mind alteringly good.

What to drink & eat at Clay:

  • To drink, dive right in and get the Clay Pisco with yuzu, pineapple basil foam and egg white.
  • Maguro Taco with tuna & truffle oil. Perfect bites to whet the appetite.
  • Foie Gras Nigiri, one of the most beautiful things I’ve eaten in a long time.
  • Otoro Nigiri; dreamy belly fat tuna with caviar
  • Ebi Shoga; prawn & ginger robatayaki skewers.
  • Maguro Picante; crispy rice squares topped with tuna, spicy mayo, furikake and roe.
  • For dessert, the Gashi Lucuma Lava is a must. A native fruit of Peru, this superfruit tastes like caramel.

One more Fifi tip... I prefer this spot for dinner a deux. Grab a friend or a SO and dine here, as the sliver of a terrace lends itself to small tables.

Enjoy!
