Specialist Food Stores (p2)

If you've read my Specialist Food Stores Part 1 and have already trawled the shops to get your gourmet and niche goodies, then it is time to read my Part 2 below!

Here are some great places I’ve enjoyed shopping for unique and tasty items.

La Gourmandise

Opened a year ago the Ritz Gourmet Store is a bijou little boutique that stocks some of their produce and dishes from the Ritz range of restaurants, ingredients that they themselves use and more. I adore their very generous smoked salmon and the range of spices are excellent (the price tag is worth it).  If you’re in Seef and hosting friends or want something nice for dinner stop by here, then head a few steps away to the Gourmet Lounge for some dessert. Perfect!

Lusitania

This Portuguese Deli is another newbie on Bahrain’s scene and a wonderful addition it is. Nestled into Al Leewan, they offer coffee and pastries to passers-by as well as a large range of pantry items, frozen goods and more.

Allo Beirut

Restaurant Cum Deli – my favourite kind of place! Stalk the aisles, load up your shopping cart and then head upstairs for a bite of Lebanese food.

Beirut Gardens

If you’re heading to Dessange, getting a treatment at xxx or checking out the lovely furniture in Fermbob then stop by Beirut Gardens for a spot of lunch and a bite to eat. While the weather is good this place has outdoor seats to while an afternoon away.

Greek Street Café

Despite the name, this café is also a store. Stop by to pick up Greek olive oils, salts, deli items and of course a delicious pastry while you’re at it.  Opened weeks ago, Greek Street is a great addition to our growing list of Greek eatery/store.

Afriki Market

Another new addition to Bahrain’s specialist store scene, Afriki bring a huge range of products from South Africa. Shop them at their counter in Oak restaurant or on their handy website. My favourite items…the homemade biltong and drywors.  Perfect for snacking on post week, with a beer in hand!
