I was honoured to be one of the first to try the new Baklawa Cooking Class at Tariq Pastries!
This four-decade old bakery and favourite amongst many Bahrain residents has some of the most delicious Arabic sweets, which I love introducing to newcomers as well as friends abroad.
The new class is run every Saturday in their Tubli branch and takes about 2 hours. You get to have a hands on experience, learning the art of making baklawa! On my visit Mr Tariq, the owner, taught the class and we got to learn about the history of the bakery as well as understand more about baklawa and their different products.
This is a fun class and I can’t recommend it enough. Spaces are limited each week, so do sign up. It is a great indoor activity this summer to avoid the scorching heat plus you can then try to recreate what you have learnt at home!
Bonus: You get to take home your hard earned baklawa creations.
DM them on instagram to sign up, here.
Price: 15 BD per person
I also rate Tariq Pastries as a great to buy foodie gifts! Look at my list of where to buy gifts and souvenirs in Bahrain here.
