West Virginia's Unassuming Barbecue Spot
As a Brit, America's 'barbecue' is pretty elusive to us. Plenty of spots in the UK try to make it, people talk about and attempt to make it, but it really hasn't won our hearts or minds the way it is a mythical dish over here stateside.
On a cold wintery day, I happened to be skiing close-ish (ok about 2 hours away!), but had to try some proper barbecue has I headed back south. After some thorough research, Jordan Springs Market in West Virginia seemed to rank right up there and was the perfect pit stop.
Nestled in a gas station.
Yes, you read that right. A gas station.
This unassuming spot serves up barbecue so good, it makes you rethink your life choices. Mine in particular being how I could have taken so long to try it! Will I being doing long detours just to return here. Yep, you're correct. See you soon.
